Our story began in 1989 when,
inspired by the natural beauty
surrounding their home on the Isle
of Arran, Janet and Iain Russell
started handcrafting luxurious
fragrant soaps. Keen to gift
visitors to the island an
unforgettable memento of their stay,
the collection soon evolved into
bath, body, home fragrance and
perfumery products; each aromatic
blend named after an island
location.
We’ve grown significantly since
those early days, though always held
true to our heritage. The Isle of
Arran remains our heart and our
inspiration; fuelling our creativity

HAMPERS All of our hamper suppliers are UK based, and 90% of their products are
sourced from within the UK. Our hampers are
carefully assembled by hand
to ensure that they both look attractive, and can be transported safely.
This is how we ensure a

hampers containing fresh food can only be delivered Tuesday-Saturday.

 The Funky Deer
Our
journey began in October 2019 when I was on maternity
leave with my second child.
Christmas had always been one of my
favourite times of the year and after seeing a number
Facebook posts advertising hand-made Christmas gifts, I
realised how much I loved those items that made
Christmas even more magical.
I started off with the launch of our
personalised letters from Santa, elf gifts and Christmas
Wish bracelets. Excited and passionate, the ideas kept
coming and I rapidly added more items to our collection.
As more and more orders came in, my husband began
helping me hand-make products and process orders.
After Christmas, we had some time to
reflect and we were overwhelmed by the number of orders,
positive reviews and the success of our products. We
started to plan and prepare for 2020 – completely
unaware of the year ahead!
Full of ideas and following the success
of our ‘Pocket Hugs’, our business continued to grow
quickly and more family members and friends joined our
team. In March 2020, we decided to make a few changes to
brand and we are now delighted to welcome you to … The
Funky Deer!
