With the Autumn months well and truly upon us it
is time to turn our focus to some
really great clarets which are
ready for drinking now. Our best-selling
affordable claret,
Château Calet 2009 (available in magnums)
is astoundingly good value for money. Both
Château Senilhac 2010 from the Haut-Médoc
and from
Saint-Émilion, Enclos la Croix de Nau 2009
are rather special - small parcels such as these
of high quality, affordable
and mature claret from great vintage years are
proving increasingly hard to come
by.
Also from the Haut-Médoc, the second wine from Château
Lamarque: D de Lamarque 2005 and 2009. Whilst
both are at maturity now, due to wine’s
structure, complexity and balance they will both
continue to impress
for some years to come.
