Mas des Roches 2014, the last of the 2013 vintages of Château Saint Jean and Domaine les Grands Bois Rasteau (the best villages appellation) are all rich reds that over deliver for their very modest prices. Domaine de Pignan from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the epicentre of the Southern Rhône, produces a stunning red and delicious white which should be over £30 a bottle.
