As rosé season dawns, The Spectator Magazine’s resident wine
critic Jonathan Ray writes up what many believe to be ‘the
finest rosés in the world’ from Château d’Eslcans in the
Spectator Wine Club offer. Sacha Lichine’s Provençal
vineyards are home to Whispering Angel, a wine which has
established itself as the world’s No. 1 premium rosé.
Winemakers, Patrick Léon (former winemaker at Château
Mouton-Rothschild) and son Bertrand commented on the 2016
vintage explaining “The maturity of the grapes, noted on
arrival in the cellar, confirmed our predictions of making an
exceptional vintage. Our Whispering Angel 2016 is testimony to
this magnificent quality.”
